Natasha Lightfoot

Natasha Lightfoot is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Faculty Fellow in the Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies at Columbia University. Her research and teaching interests include slavery and emancipation, Black community formation and resistance, and practices of freedom in the 19th century Caribbean. She has also investigated the disruptive impact of climate change and natural disasters on community formation and cultural preservation in the 20th and 21st century Anglophone Caribbean.
