Description: Angélica Dass is an award-winning photographer born in Brazil and based in Spain. Her practice combines photography with sociological research and public engagement to advocate for global human rights. She is the creator of the internationally acclaimed project “Humanae,” a collection of portraits that reveals the diverse beauty of humanity. In the Educating City, we deactivate racism through the powerful educational tool of photography and art in the service of reflection and social change. Her talk focuses on deconstructing and rethinking the concept of race, proving it is a social construct, and inviting the audience to see each other as human beings. There will be a space to gather public reflections on the power of education to foster anti-racist perspectives and value diversity.
