Eduardo Martinez Gutiérrez

Zapotec from Oaxaca, Mexico. A political scientist and Master in Human Rights and Democracy with studies in the United States, Colombia, and Bolivia. He is an Ashoka fellow and a fellow of the United Nations Fund for Indigenous Peoples. He leads a movement for the linguistic rights of Indigenous peoples through the Network of Intercultural Interpreters and Promoters, an organization that received the Global Pluralism Award (2023) and the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence (2024).
